HOW TO BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER!
Active membership has its benefits! Apart from helping a noble cause, and making awesome friends, you will be recognized and awarded for your selfless work. Check out the below excerpt from the Constitution regarding eligibility and requirements.
Requirements:
Active membership shall only be limited to persons officially connected with the University of Maryland, College Park as faculty, staff or registered students. Students enrolled in the spring semester as well as students enrolled in summer school are eligible for membership.
The active voting membership is restricted to currently registered undergraduate students at the University of Maryland. No dues are required to be an active, voting member of the organization. Members can voluntarily withdraw their membership without penalty. In addition, the following requirements are necessary to constitute active membership:
1. Active participation in at least ½ of all events scheduled during a given semester unless the activity interferes with either scholastic or financial constraints.
2. Attendance of at least 66% (two of three) of all meetings during a given semester.
March of Dimes Collegiate Council openly admits students to its membership and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, personal appearance, age, national origin, political affiliation, physical or mental disability, or on the basis of rights secured by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Recognition ceremony:
Active members will be recognized in a ceremony at the end of the school year, during the spring semester, where they will be given a certificate and pin by the state director of the March of Dimes. In addition, there will be a luncheon hosted for these members.
List of Active Members: This list will be updated at the end of the 2015-2016 School year.
